Anatomy of a good person

I will be honest, I used to think that I was a good person. I thought that I was a good son, a good friend and most importantly — A good human being.

But as I proceeded in life, I realized I am not who I thought I was.

For example, I thought I was someone who was always up to help others. i thought I was someone who was doing his best to reduce his carbon footprint but boy was I wrong.

Lets get into it.

I had absolutely no idea what was the gravity of certain choices I made on very basic aspects like clothes, the type of food I ate, what I did with my old school books etc etc.

Clothes, one of the things that protect us from cold, radiation, injury. The one thing that people buy for themselves that has a direct visually appealing nature.

The types of clothes you wear greatly impact your footprint on the environment.

Are you one of those people who buy economically feasible clothes that only last for a while?

Well, you shouldn’t. Most of the fast fashion clothes/accessories are made from plastic or plastic derived materials which is very hard to recycle after use. I would like to point out here that I am not against plastic, I am however against single use, low grade, unrecyclable, non reusable plastics that certainly end up burning or choking a turtle in the sea.

These rejected/ thrown away clothes then end up in poorer countries where they are either taken in by the populace or burnt.

Well, then what can you do?

I am not advising you to buy expensive clothes nor I am recommending them. What you can do is buy sustainable clothing, clothes made up of either natural fibers or from substances that are bio degradable.

At last I will say.
