In the matrix trilogy, Agent Smith says

I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from.

We don't really value happiness until we are in pain.

A perfect world with nothing going bad in our lives would kill our dopamine receptors, ceasing our will to live.

We are nothing without misery and happiness and human life lies somewhere in the equilibrium in between.

The sacrifices that you make today would pay off tomorrow.

We have to take hard decisions, remove distractions and it all has to happen now.

If it were easy, everyone would have done it.

I would just like to end with this.

Dream with your eyes open, sleep when you are dead,

Love who your heart’s chosen, Conquer what lies ahead.
